Description/Duties:
The Environmental Health Specialist performs professional field inspections and plan review functions in compliance and relating to environmental health and public health sanitation codes under the Arizona Revised Statutes, Codes 36 and 49, Maricopa County Environmental Health Code, Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.), and delegation agreements with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ). Employees of this title are generally assigned to one of the following specialized areas: retail food establishments, aquatic health and safety, onsite wastewater, stormwater management, waste transport, or drinking water quality.
